A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee where he graduated from the McCallie School, Kent Shelton graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Anthropology. A graduate of the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. A member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1993 and of the Tennessee State Bar since 2006. Co-Chair of the Georgia State Bar section on Military and Veteran's Law since 2004. A member of the United States Army Reserve Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps since 2000.
